River People at The Freedom Festival

Voices of Freedom takes place on the River Hull, taking us back to the days when the City was built as a port in order that wool from all over Yorkshire could be sent as a ransom for Richard the Lionheart.

The story takes place around Prophemi the Leader of the River People giving his annual “after the harvest” address to his people. Times are tough and he urges his people to shake off the old and to consider new horizons, though this doesn’t go as planned, until the arrival of a mysterious outsider…
